Time Management for System Administrators Thomas A. Limoncelli
Publisher: O'Reilly Media

Over the years, I've tried few time management and productivity systems. My two current essential books are Time Management for System Administrators by Thomas Limoncelli and The Practice of System and Network Administration by Thomas Limoncelli and Christine Hogan. O'Reilly just published Tom Limoncelli's new book on Time Management for System Administrators, which is kind of a simplified techie approach in the same vein as Getting Things Done. Also, “Time Management for System Administrators” by Thomas A. Book recommendation - I think on Brent Ozar's site - for a 2006 book entitled "Time management for system administrators", by Tom Limoncelli (see his blog at http://everythingsysadmin.com/, he seems like good people). Limoncelli is a great source of both professional ane personal advices. Time management for system administrators deals with focus, prioritisation and a simple-but-effective system of managing requests (I use a variation on this system to manage my daily and ongoing workload). I'm still trying to find a good combination of GTD and other methods (Time Management for System Administrators shows a good mash-up of different methods, e.g.). There is one book out there called Time Management for System Administrators by O'Reilly which exactly fits the above description. System administrators spend time validating the design and implementation and then must provide appropriate monitoring and management. Michael Gorsline // Sep 2, 2008 at 8:56 am.
